July 2012 Papertrey Blog Hop

I have finally returned to work after a wonderful 3 weeks off, so just a quick post to play in the Papertrey Blog Hop!  Here is the challenge:

This month's inspiration is all about pairing up beautiful summer colors as this wonderful season begins to come to a close. Put together some citrusy hues along with some pretty floral images to create the perfect project that embodies everything summer. We look forward to seeing your creations!

And here is my take:

My new order arrived yesterday, so I had a chance to play with the new set, Life is Sweet.  I used the colors as listed in the challenge, and only did two of the three layers - I stamped off once for the first layer, and then used the same color full strength for the highlight layer.  The tiny filler flower is from Natural Beauties (from Stamp-a-faire).  The vellum layer is die cut with Lacy Squares nestie, and stamped with Staz-on ink.  The primrose seam binding bow is from Ribbon Carousel, and topped with a melon berry button.

Thanks for looking!

  1. Very pretty! I love your stamped background and the vellum diecut!

  2. lovely card - really loving that Life is Sweet stamp set

  3. Oh this is such a sweet card! Great job! :)

  4. I really love this background you've created (I think I love the tiny roses in this set better than the larger...I would have loved to use these on my card!) It just looks like the prettiest patterned paper, the way you stamped it off first before the full strength stamping...LOVE that look!! Such a pretty card!!

  5. Lovely. You did agreat job stamping the background. Love the yellow ribbon.

  6. Such a pretty cad!! Love your background stamping! What a great idea to use the same color for both layers! Very effective!
